Nankai Gold Fashioned
Our take on the classic Old Fashioned. We've replaced whiskey with our award-winning Nankai Gold Shochu which has been barrel-aged in a variety of casks for balance and depth. Many have told us the Nankai Gold Fashioned is their favorite Old Fashioned so we'd love to hear if you agree.

- 2 oz. Nankai Gold Premium Barrel-Aged Shochu
- 1 tsp Sugar kokuto black sugar recommended
- 3 dashes Dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 1 splash Soda water
- 1 Orange Peel
Add sugar, Angostura bitters, and splash of soda water to a rocks glass. Muddle.
Add 2 oz. of Nankai Gold.
Add large ice cube and stir 10 times.
Express orange peel over drink (pith facing away) and garnish.
- You can use less sugar, if you wish. Or experiment with different kinds of sugar. Maple Syrup or Honey are fun twists.
- You can experiment with different kinds of bitters, too. No more than 2-3 dashes are necessary.
- We don't use cherries in our Old Fashioneds but feel free to do you.
