Our newest release is *gasp* NOT a shochu, but a c Our newest release is *gasp* NOT a shochu, but a craft rum from @ooyamajin7_official of Kagoshima, Japan. Say hello to Nankai Acou Rum (White), a 100% kokuto rum using high-test molasses comprised of only locally grown and harvested sugarcane. And like our other products, Acou Rum is additive-free. Our first release is unaged to showcase the base spirit's incredible flavors with notes of papaya, chamomile, lemongrass, and spice. Nankai Acou Rum is a wonderfully loving cousin to Nankai Shochu that deserves to be sipped and savored. Nankai Imo Black is here! Our very first imo (swe Nankai Imo Black is here! Our very first imo (sweet potato) shochu. Here’s what makes Nankai Imo Black unique and delicious: - Made from local Kagoshima sweet potatoes, rice and Ibusuki underground spring water. - Fermented with black koji in priceless 150-year-old clay tsubo vessels. - Aroma: Fruity, floral with orange peel and roasted yams. - Palate: Smooth with chestnuts, lychee and spice. As always with our shochu: no sugar, carbs, gluten or additives. We started Nankai Shochu out of love for Amami Island and Kokuto Shochu, but we’ve become friends with other talented distillers, like @ooyamajin7_official . That’s why we started a new line called Nankai Selection, where Paul and Mai handpick their favorites outside of Amami Island and bring them to the U.S. We only sell what we drink, and at this point we need to start selling more than we drink. Depending where you are, it might be chilly, rainy Depending where you are, it might be chilly, rainy, snowy, or bone-brittling. What you just might need is some hot yuzu honey mixed with Nankai Shochu to comfort the shivers and shakes. Yuzu Oyuwari 3 oz Hot Water (160 F or so) 2 oz Nankai Shochu 1 tablespoon Yuzu Honey (found at Asian supermarkets) Dissolve the yuzu honey with the hot water in a ceramic cup. This should bring the temperature of the hot water down, which is good so you don’t burn away the shochu. Slowly add the shochu and stir.
